From Rescue to Rehab: One Dog’s Mission to Bring Harmony to Healthcare
Chloe, a Dog-Harmony therapy dog, brings 65 pounds of love and joy to staff and patients - and the occasional tears to patients who miss their dogs at the HCA Florida Healthcare's Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Florida. Her favorite place to visit at the rehab center is the physical therapy (PT) gym, where she can interact with the PT patients. She is a great aid, assisting with repetitive arm movements as a command to sit, stay, or play fetch.

Pamper your pup with a cool summer swim to benefit Dog-Harmony at Beach Dog Aqua Therapy on Saturday, June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 141 Santa Barbara Ave. For a donation of $30, a family can schedule a private, 30-minute canine swim session with Diane Kenney, a Certified Canine Hydrotherapist.

Dog-Harmony will virtually host Amanda Rietheimer in its second virtual education seminar focusing on dog behavior on May 20th at 5:00 p.m. Rietheimer is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). Dog-Harmony’s complimentary seminar, “Ask Amanda: Shelter Enrichment, Expectations and Equipment,” will be beneficial for employees and volunteers of animal rescue organizations, as well as all dog lovers.

She is a lifelong animal advocate and former animal control officer in New England. Dog-Harmony will host a live Q & A session called “Ask Amanda: Resources for Rescues.”
